Jilin Normal University, founded in 1958, is a key university in Jilin Province. There are two campuses located in Siping and Changchun, which cover a total area of one million square meters. The university serves as the main institution in providing higher education for teachers in Jilin province. A training center for provincial teachers at all levels has also been established here. The university has 22 colleges, 2 teaching sections, 30 research institutions, and 117 laboratories. The library boasts 1.89 million volumes of books. In September 2015, there were 16,451 undergraduates, 2,215 graduates, 5 doctoral students, 360 international students. The university was authorized to accept international students with Chinese Government Scholarship by MOE in 2006.
